Kristen Wallace joins the Georgia Gang at Montgomery Speedway

IT’S GAME ON AT MONTGOMERY MOTOR SPEEDWAY IN 2010

For Immediate Release

Montgomery, Al. (Jan. 11 2010) – Looks like Montgomery Motor Speedway Public Relations Director Bill Desmond has opened a can of worms with the announcement about the “Alabama Posse”.
It might be cold outside but the telephone at the track has been “hot” with calls from Georgia commenting, “Hold On, Not So Fast Over There, We Will Take On The Posse” was heard on the track answering machine!!
Never one to back down from a challenge, long time short-track veteran Bubba Pollard said when he read the press release about the Alabama Posse, “We have our own entourage that will be in Montgomery for the Show Me The Money Races and we will challenge the posse for that stash of cash Augie Grill claims is his,” said Pollard of Senoia, Ga. Joining Pollard will be T. J. Reaid, Acworth, Ga., Chase Elliott, Dawsonville, Ga. and Kristen Wallace, Jasper, Ga.
“Don’t forget we have been racing for a few years and have the original Georgia Gang on our side,” quipped Pollard. “My car owner, and mentor Ronnie Sanders, was part of the Georgia Gang back in the 80s when Bob Harmon had his All Pro Super Series and they were pretty darn AWESOME as Harmon would say” continued Pollard. Six-time All Pro Champion Jody Ridley was the leader of the original Georgia Gang along with two-time All Pro Champion Randy Couch, Kenny Rogers double in the movie Six Pack, Billy McGinnis and Sanders were the ones to beat in their hay-day. Sanders still does some racing in Georgia.
Pollard can definitely back up the challenge since he, Grill, Bolen, Reaid and others have dueled many times over the past few years throughout the southeast.
2009 was a decent racing year for Pollard but not to his liking. He made 31 starts in 2009 recording six poles, 12 stops in victory lane along with 25 top five and 26 top ten finishes. He won the Miller Lite Championship Series at Mobile Int’l Speedway which was part of the Sunoco Gulf Coast Championship. He made two Show Me The Money attempts in 2009 recording a fourth place finish and a DNS due to engine failure.
Reaid, has moved up quickly in short-track circles. He started Late Model racing in 2006 and already has been to victory lane four times and holds track records at many places. He currently holds the Pro Late Model qualifying record at Montgomery. Reaid and Grill battled each other for the 2009 Snowball Derby Snowflake win with Grill winning. Reaid was 2009 Ga. Asphalt Series ROY.
Youth would certainly describe two other members of the New Georgia Gang. Chase Elliott, 14 years of age had three pole starts and four wins to his credit in 2009 in a Pro Late Model car. And it is not everyday that a young race car driver can say he has one of the most famous NASCAR drivers ever calling the shots in his pits. His dad, Bill Elliott, the first Million Dollar man in NASCAR, was 1988 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion and has been named Most Popular NASCAR Driver 16 times, the most in NASCAR history. All this and he still cannot drive on Georgia highways.
“In my 30 years of being associated with short-track racing, I have never known any driver to have the talent, background and opportunity that Chase possesses for his age,” commented Desmond. “We definitely will see this young driver make history, just like his dad.”
Rounding out the Georgia Gang in 2010 will be a true Georgia Peach, Kristen Wallace, Jasper, Ga. who is moving to Late Model cars after driving a Super Truck. Kristen, 17 years of age, is not only an excellent racer but has talent and beauty and also does a lot of modeling.

An opening event Media Day will be held on March 12, followed by an open practice. Another open practice will be on March 13. Join the crowd at Montgomery Motor Speedway on March 20 for the 2010 Show Me The Money I. Be a part of history and watch as the New “Georgia Gang” makes their TEAM debut.
