Michael Cherry wrapped up his sophomore season with the Drive for Diversity program with a solid fourth-place finish at Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C., on Saturday night.

“It’s good to finish out the season with a couple of good back-to-back finishes,” said Cherry, who had two top-five finishes last Saturday. “It’s been a great learning year for me here at Greenville Pickens and I can’t thank Blair (Addis) and the Drive for Diversity program enough for this opportunity.”

Cherry qualified seventh for the 40-lap late model event, driving the No. 34 Nationwide Insurance Toyota for Addis Motorsports.

Cherry is currently sixth in the Greenville Pickens Speedway Late Model points standings with seven top fives and 19 top 10s.

D4D NEWS AND NOTES:
Mackena Bell was at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale for Twin 40-lap events in the AC Delco Super Late Model division. Bell, driving the No. 30 Position One Motorsports Chevrolet, finished 10th in both events after a 12th-place qualifying effort. She is currently eighth in the points standings.

Laura Hayes finished 12th in the No. 22 peoplefinders.com Chevrolet at South Boston (Va.) Speedway on Saturday night. Hayes is currently 14th in the Late Model division standings.

Natalie Sather was at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash., for the Twin 30 Super Late Model events on Saturday. Sather scored two top 10s, finishing eighth and 10th in the No. 94 Total Velocity Motorsports Toyota.

Emily Sue Steck was at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisc., on Saturday night. Steck, driving the No. 6 DMT Motorsports Chevrolet, finished 10th in the late model feature. She is currently ninth in the standings with one race left on the schedule.
