Hello. My name is Emily Packard and I am 13. I have been racing for 4 years. 3 years go-karts and 1 year with my Allison Legacy car witch I started last year. Some of my highlights from my racing years are... 2006-At my first race I was put into the A group instead of the B because I was too fast for the B's. Also I got my first podium finish at my 9th race. 2007- Broke the track record at my home track and won the VT shifter Karts Series championship. That year I also started to race the WKA Northeast sprint series finishing 3rd over all. 2008- Broke my track record again and won my second championship with the VT Shifter Karts Series. Also I raced a partial schedule on the Northeast sprint series and got 5th over all. I had a chance to race a Yamaha Jr. Super can at the Raceway Park and finished 4th and 5th running with some of the kids from the national series. 2009- I stopped racing go-karts and started racing my Allison Legacy car. Going down to Rougemont, NC to race with the south series was really fun and hard. One of the most memorable things this year was getting my first top 3 is at Adirondack Speedway in NY.
I got 13th with only racing half of the southern races. I was the highest placing driver with that number of races done. So it wasn't that bad with only doing that much. A top 10 would have been a lot better though :)
Haha! I always count the days down. I have 18 more days! We haven't had the banquet for PASS yet, but I went to the Legacy one down here in January. They're always fun to go to and it's really different from the north banquets. What place did you get?
Yes, I actually used to race Allisons in the north series. I loved the Allison Legacy Series and I love everyone who runs it. The series is such a good stepping stone after you've been in karting. Racing up north was an experience I'll never forget, but racing down here in the south was much more fierce. In the southern series, I got a lot more experience because everyone who was racing went hard every lap, not just at the end. I saw you when you came down for Orange County last year in June, and I definitely encourage you to come down here and race with the Allisons whenever you can. Donnie Allison always gave me a lot of advice whenever I needed it and it helped me a lot. The whole Allison family is great and just loves to race. Whatever you need, they will help you with it. So like I said, whenever you get the chance to race down here, I would definitely do it!
You should also look into the 2010 Legends racing there trying to get going too. Its a easier step now that you've ran a Allison Legacy car. You should talk to Ms. Michelle Langley and ask her about it.
